PsychoGeriatric Services (PGS) was organized in 2002 as an outgrowth of Geriatric Mental Health Systems which was established in 1994. PGS works to provide a quality multidisciplinary approach to mental health care in long term care facilities. Our group of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and nurse clinicians work as a team in conjunction with the nursing home to:

• Provide mental health treatment for problems arising with individual residents or families
• Participate in nursing and rehabilitation planning
• Provide expertise with regard to state and federal rules and regulations.

PGS emphasizes efficacy and quality in delivery of service. Our medical approach assures that all mental health rendered is medically necessary, provided at the appropriate level and managed to achieve expected outcomes. Staff development, collecting and reporting data, and staff education are other included services.
